1 John 5:4 „...for everyone born of God overcomes the world.
The Overcomers of this congregation who are 50+ meet monthly for fellowship over lunch. A variety of activities follow, the highlight is always singing along with Jean and the Guys. Our attendance of 25-40 includes newcomers to the church as well as guests from the community.

Our annual roast beef dinner was a great evening. Our own very talented folks put together some amazing combinations, trio, quartet, quintet numbers, and devotions were enjoyed by the 70-75 in attendance.
A stirring message was given by Rev. Herb Shoemaker, our guest speaker for Seniors Sunday.
In March Rev. Dave Gagnon came to inform us about his work as chaplain at Lindsay correctional institution.

Each year our group participates in "Operation Christmas Child" for Samaritans Purse Outreach. Last December we were blessed to be able to send 2 teacher boxes filled with school supplies and 117 shoeboxes filled with everything from toothpaste, clothes and soap to hair beads, shoes, toy cars, dolls, Love and prayers for a child at Christmas. These boxes are shipped by Samaritans Purse to hurting children Worldwide where the ravages of war, natural disaster, poverty and illness have taken their toll on their young lives.Their faces light up as they dig through their boxes uncovering their new treasures. Samaritans purse delivers these boxes while also telling them about God's greatest gift, His Son, Jesus Christ. Come be a part and help give hope and bring a smile to a childs face this Christmas.

We have many outings, activities and get togethers for you to join in! An energetic crew transformed one of the cabins at Lakeshore Pentecostal camp last year. Scraping, painting, repairing inside and out. We will be doing it again this year! come join us! There is an annual Talent and Hobby Day where we discover musical talents, poets, artists, quilters, wood artisans, collectors and other surprises. Through Child Care Plus we support a child in Kenya. In June 2003 we took a day trip to Oshawa to visit the McLaughlin estate and the Antique Car Museum. To be a blessing to our senior seniors is a priority. Visitation teams go out monthly to those shut-in. Homemade goodies were delivered to 33 folk at Christmas time. Over-80 birthdays are always a joy. The retirement town of Lindsay is a vast mission field. Our prayer is for God to give us creative thoughts for reaching out to our community and beyond.

In His Service, Ruth Armstrong
